  • When is the next event?
Head to our booking page to browse and book events. The next events are part of the Edinburgh Fringe on 15-17th August. The second Leith Comedy Festival will take place on 4th to 6th October. Save the date! We announce every new event through our mailing list then social media. Sign up to our mailing list for event announcements and free priority booking You can follow us on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter
  • How does priority booking work?
A top secret code will be sent to the Leith Comedy Festival mailing list 24 to 48 hours before tickets go on general sale to the public, along with a link to the booking page. Look out for "Have an access code?" at the bottom of the booking page and enter the code there. This will open up ticketing options.
  • Are shows accessible?
We try to use accessible venues where possible. Please see individual events for accessibility information. If you have any requests to make your experience more comfortable (for example sitting near the door or at the end of a row) please email us on accessibility@leithcomedyfest.com and we will do our best to help. If you'd like to come into the venue a little earlier so you can familiarise yourself with the space, this can be arranged. We encourage every venue we work with to post accessibility information on Euan's Guide. We are always looking for ways to make our events more inclusive and accessible, so please do make suggestions and comments.
  • Do you provide tickets for carers?
Yes, we offer a free ticket to a personal assistant or carer. Simply book your ticket and select the option for an additional free ticket. Please email accessibility@leithcomedyfest.com if you need help or have any questions.
  • How do pay-it-forward tickets work?
We love comedy, and we don’t want people to miss out, so we’ve come up with a plan. If you, like us, want comedy to be fully available then please consider paying it forward, giving the gift of laughter. That gift enables us to give free tickets to people in the community who might otherwise miss out. This is done through our community partnerships.
  • What is the Leith Comedy Festival Community Fund?
100% of your donations go into a community fund, and when there’s enough money, we can fund or subsidise an event for a local charity or group. For example we could offer a funded writing workshop to a local youth centre, or a subsidised laughter yoga session for a group of carers.
  • Can I get a refund?
No. Occasionally line-ups change and the weather is bad. The only exception to this is if we have to cancel event (and we only do this for reasons beyond our control or for safety reasons), generally you will be offered a ticket to a rescheduled date. If it's completely cancelled, you will automatically get a full refund.
  • How do I ask a question or give feedback?
We welcome and encourage questions and feedback. We are a new festival and we want to get it right. We hand out feedback forms at our events, or you can email thoughts, questions and suggestions to laugh@leithcomedyfest.com or go to the Contact Us page on our website.
  • I can't find my ticket. What do I do?
Please follow the instructions on Universe ticketing page
  • What time do the doors open before an event?
Please check your ticket or booking page for details of your particular event. It varies between 15 minutes and an hour, depending on the venue and type of event. For evening comedy shows, we recommend arriving half an hour before (and at least 20 minutes) to avoid getting stuck in a queue just before the show starts.
  • Will tickets be available at the event?
We always encourage people to book ahead, as shows often sell out. It's also quicker to check you in if you have already bought a ticket. If tickets are available, you can buy them at the event. Please arrive in plenty of time. We know that it's not always easy to book tickets ahead of time (e.g. if you don't have a bank card). If this is the case, please email us on accessibility@leithcomedyfest.com and we'll do our best to help.
  • Will food be available at the event?
Please check with individual venues, though most are in busy places with a choice of restaurants nearby.
  • Are seats reserved?
Tickets are general admission, which means you can sit anywhere. There is a seat for everyone. For comedy shows, the front row tends to fill up last so we'd advise getting to the venue in plenty of time if you don't want to sit there! If you're in a group, we recommend arriving in plenty of time so you can find seats together.
  • Is there an age restriction at events?
Please check individual events for an age restriction or recommendation. If there's a restriction, this is usually because the venue's licence does not allow people under a certain age after a certain time. For example, a venue may not legally be allowed to let people who are 17 years old or younger in the venue after 9pm. Some venues allow people under 16 as long as they are accompanied by an adult, and do not approach the bar. Where licensing is not an issue, we like to recommend an age. Ultimately it's up to the adult to decide if they want to bring someone younger.
